Stunt Icon Jackie Chan Returns as Mr. Han in New “Karate Kid” Film

Global martial arts icon Jackie Chan is stepping back into action for his latest film, Karate Kid: Legends, proving that age is just a number. Now 71, the celebrated Hong Kong actor shows no signs of slowing down, once again performing his own stunts — a commitment he has maintained for over six decades.

In a recent interview, Chan emphasized that his long-standing routine has become second nature. “At this point, my body, heart, and mind are all aligned — I don’t even need to train the way I used to.”

Reflecting on the influence of modern technology in cinema, Chan called CGI a “double-edged sword”. While it allows filmmakers to create visually stunning sequences, he believes it sometimes reduces the realism that once defined action films.

In Karate Kid: Legends, Chan reprises his role as Mr. Han, originally seen in the 2010 Karate Kid reboot. He’s joined by Ralph Macchio, who returns as the iconic Daniel LaRusso from the original 1980s franchise. Rising talent Ben Wang takes the spotlight in the lead role, bringing new energy to the beloved series.

The film is set to release in theaters on May 30, generating buzz among fans of Chan and action cinema alike.
