“President Zardari’s health improving steadily. No visits allowed as treatment continues

The treatment of President Asif Ali Zardari continues at a private hospital in Karachi, where his health is gradually improving. His treating physician, Dr. Asim Hussain, confirmed that the president’s condition is showing signs of improvement, though visits remain restricted to ensure proper rest and recovery.

Dr. Hussain assured that President Zardari’s health is improving and that the family is being kept fully informed about his treatment. He stated that the president’s family is in regular contact with both Zardari and the medical team for updates.

Earlier, on April 1, President Zardari was rushed from Nawabshah to Karachi after his health deteriorated. Dr. Hussain later confirmed that the president had tested positive for COVID-19.

Dr. Hussain addressed the circulating rumors regarding President Zardari’s health, especially the false reports being spread on social media and by certain Indian media outlets. “There is no cause for concern regarding his health, and the news circulating on various platforms is baseless,” he said, urging the public to rely only on credible information.

He further clarified that the president had traveled from Islamabad to Nawabshah on the weekend for Eid celebrations. “On Eid, his health suddenly worsened, and he immediately contacted me. We provided him with the necessary medical care, and due to the limited healthcare facilities in Nawabshah, he was transferred to Karachi for more specialized treatment,” Dr. Hussain explained.

Dr. Hussain also emphasized that the president’s health is improving, and he is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon, possibly within a day or two. The physician also appealed to the public not to believe in false reports circulating on social media, adding that these rumors were harmful and misleading.

In response to questions about the videos and images being shared online, Dr. Hussain mentioned, “The circulation of these images is politically driven and unverified. We must not fall prey to such misinformation.” He also pointed out that while President Zardari has some pre-existing health conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes, these are being carefully managed and his condition is now steadily improving.

Dr. Hussain concluded by urging the people of Pakistan to trust only verified information regarding President Zardari’s health and to ignore fake news. He reaffirmed that COVID-19 still poses a threat, but with the availability of antiviral medications, the situation is now under control.
