Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met EU Ambassador Dr. Riina Kionka, who expressed condolences over the recent train attack in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister thanked the ambassador for showing solidarity with the people of Pakistan and strongly condemning the terrorist attack. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring national security.
Strengthening Pakistan-EU Relations
During the meeting, Pakistan-EU relations were discussed in detail. PM Shehbaz highlighted the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and the European Union and expressed satisfaction over recent developments.
The Prime Minister reiterated his desire to further strengthen economic ties with the EU and enhance trade relations under the GSP+ scheme.
Pakistan-EU Business Forum
PM Shehbaz welcomed the upcoming Pakistan-EU Business Forum, scheduled for May, and assured the EU Ambassador of full government support to make the event a success.
Ambassador Riina Kionka briefed the Prime Minister on recent and upcoming EU visits to Pakistan, emphasizing mutual efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation.
