In a shocking and abrupt move, the administration of Park View City Islamabad has imposed a staggering financial burden on its allottees under the guise of “development charges.” Without any prior consultation or phased implementation plan, a notification was issued demanding Rs. 100,000 per marla for residential plots. This means a 5-marla plot owner is now being forced to pay an unexpected Rs. 500,000. Even more outrageous is the demand for Rs. 1 million per marla for commercial plots, causing widespread panic among investors and homeowners alike.
The decision sparked immediate outrage from the community, leading to peaceful protests by affected file holders and residents. However, what began as a democratic expression of concern was met with sheer brutality. Eyewitnesses report that the protesting individuals were not only manhandled but also subjected to violence by the administration’s security personnel. Several protesters were injured, and many were threatened with dire consequences if they continued raising their voices against the unfair charges.
This unanticipated financial imposition and the aggressive response by the Park View City management have raised serious concerns about transparency, legality, and the rights of investors in private housing societies. Many now fear for their investments and safety, as the administration shows little willingness to engage in constructive dialogue.
