March 23: Ahsan Iqbal Unveils Bold Vision for a $3 Trillion Economy by 2047

Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, has emphasized the profound significance of March 23, 1940, as a day that rekindles the memory of a pivotal moment in history when the Muslims of the subcontinent resolved to establish an independent state. In his special message on the occasion of Pakistan Day, he reflected on the day as a symbol of collective consciousness, national identity, and unwavering determination, which ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan—a monumental blessing for its people. As the nation commemorates 84 years since this historic decision, Ahsan Iqbal urged citizens to honour the sacrifices of the past and draw inspiration from them to build a brighter future.
The Federal Minister also shed light on the government’s ambitious “Uraan Pakistan” program, a national vision aimed at achieving economic self-reliance, modern development, and a dignified global standing for the country. Under this initiative, Pakistan has set ambitious targets: building a 1 trillion economy by 2035 and 3 trillion economy by 2047. He highlighted that these goals are not just about economic growth but also about creating a sustainable and prosperous future for generations to come.
Ahsan Iqbal further elaborated that while economic measures are crucial, they alone cannot guarantee a nation’s true progress. He stressed that political stability is a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable development. Pakistan, he said, is moving in a direction that promises long-term growth and stability, but achieving this vision requires unity, resilience, and a shared commitment to overcoming challenges.
