Babar Azam is a great player—every cricketer faces tough times

Former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has come out in support of Babar Azam, stating that every player faces a rough patch and that Babar remains a top-class cricketer. He also expressed concerns over Pakistan’s poor performance in recent months.

While speaking to the media in Lahore, Inzamam-ul-Haq emphasized the need for strategic thinking instead of making frequent changes. He said, “Rather than constant changes, we should sit down and analyze where the mistakes are happening. If we keep shuffling players and coaches, the team will lose confidence, and the situation will remain the same.”

He urged the management to trust the players and identify the real issues affecting the national team’s performance. He pointed out that Pakistan has not been playing quality cricket for the past several months, which requires introspection rather than reactive decisions.

The former captain further stated that frequently changing coaches and players will not solve the problem. He stressed the importance of consistency and long-term planning for team stability.

Inzamam-ul-Haq also highlighted the significant role of past players in shaping Pakistan cricket, saying, “If you remove players from the 90s era, Pakistan cricket will lose its strength.” He implied that experienced players should continue contributing to the game instead of being sidelined.
