New Travel Bans Loom: 41 Countries Face Visa Curbs Under Trump Policy

The Trump administration is reportedly considering a new set of travel restrictions targeting citizens from 41 countries, according to a report by The New York Times. The proposed measures would categorize these nations into three distinct groups, with 10 countries expected to be placed on an “Orange List.” This list includes Pakistan, Belarus, Haiti, Myanmar, Russia, and Turkmenistan, among others. Citizens from Orange List countries would face restrictions on tourist and student visas, effectively limiting their ability to visit or study in the United States. However, business travelers from these nations may still be allowed entry under specific conditions.

In addition to the Orange List, the administration is also expected to impose full travel bans on several other countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Cuba, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen. Furthermore, five countries are likely to face partial visa suspensions, while 26 others have been recommended for similar measures. These nations, placed on a “Yellow List,” will be given a 60-day window to address U.S. concerns before the restrictions are fully implemented.

The proposed travel bans are part of the administration’s broader efforts to tighten immigration and national security policies. However, critics argue that such measures could strain diplomatic relations and hinder international cooperation. The final decision on these travel restrictions is still under review, but the proposal has already sparked widespread debate and concern among affected nations and global observers.
