I can no longer serve in silence” – A bold statement from DIG Imran Kishwar

In a surprising turn of events, SSP Imran Kishwar, who was heading the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the PTI cases, has resigned from his position. The resignation letter, written in English, has surfaced, revealing his reasons for stepping down.

According to the text of his resignation, DIG Imran Kishwar stated:

“I am resigning from the Police Service of Pakistan. I have upheld my oath with unwavering commitment, often at a personal cost. However, I now find myself at a juncture where I can no longer continue my services. History shall testify that I have served with dignity, but I can no longer perform my duties in silence. Please accept my resignation.”

Reliable sources have confirmed that Imran Kishwar is currently serving as DIG Admin in Lahore on an Own Pay and Scale (OPS) basis. It is also reported that his name was deferred in a recent selection board meeting for DIG promotions, which left him disheartened and led him to submit his resignation to the Punjab IG instead of the Establishment Division, as is the standard procedure for PSP officers.

Sources further claim that there is a high possibility that Punjab IG may call him in the coming days to discuss the matter and convince him to withdraw his resignation. If that happens, the situation might be resolved without further escalation.
