51 Martyred in Cross-Border Hostilities as Pakistan Commemorates ‘Marka-e-Haq’

In a tragic toll from recent cross-border hostilities, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday that 51 Pakistani civilians and military personnel were martyred during what it described as unprovoked aggression by India, now marked as Marka-e-Haq. The Pakistan Army has formally disclosed the full extent of casualties sustained in the confrontation that took place during the night of May 6 and 7.

According to the ISPR, the overnight escalation resulted in the loss of 40 civilian lives, including 7 women and 15 children, due to intense shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) and 121 civilians, among them 27 children and 10 women, were wounded.

On the military front, 11 Pakistani servicemen were killed in action while resisting the aggression during Operation Bunyan un Marsoos. The fallen included six soldiers from the Pakistan Army and five personnel from the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), with 78 other security members sustaining injuries.

The Pakistan Army honoured its fallen heroes, naming them as Naik Abdul Rehman, Naik Waqar Khalid, Lance Naik Dilawar Khan, Ikramullah, Sepoy Adeel Akbar, and Sepoy Nisar. From the PAF, the martyred were Squadron Leader Usman Yousuf, Chief Technician Aurangzeb, Senior Technician Najeeb, Senior Technician Mubashir, and Corporal Technician Farooq.

“The martyrs are a source of national pride, and their sacrifices will be etched in our memory forever,” said the ISPR spokesperson. “Pakistan remains steadfast and unwavering in the face of hostility, and the resolve to defend the homeland remains absolute.”
